THE League of Akwa Ibom Professionals has congratulated the Akwa Ibom Governor-elect, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, on his victory at the gubernatorial polls of April 11, in Akwa Ibom State.

The chairman of the League of Akwa Ibom Professionals, Comrade Mbuotidem Affia, while addressing journalists on Udom’s victory, in Uyo said: “Udom’s victory is a victory for the people and shows the voice of the people must count. This, to me, is democracy and exactly what the people need at this point in time.”

Affia, former president, Union of Niger Delta Students (UNDS), said the decision to support Udom Emmanuel as the next governor of the state was the right decision considering Udom’s track records.

According to him, “We make no mistakes supporting Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. We are in the right direction because Udom is the right person for the job in this state. He is tested and trusted and never disappointed us when he was in the private sector.”

He said that with Udom as governor of Akwa Ibom State, there is continuity on the administration of Chief Godswill Obot Akapbio in the State.

“With this victory at the pools, we are assured of industrialization in the State, consolidation in the education sector and the continuity of the uncommon transformation of our State. We are confident in his professional experience and we know he will take the state to another level,” Affia affirmed.
