AS part of the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to create wealth, the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) has trained youths in diverse areas such as leadership, skills acquisition, modelling, hairdressing, barbing and creativity among others.

According to the centre, the training will enhance the capacity of Nigerian youths to participate in the economy of the nation.

Organised in collaboration with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Office in the Presidency, the training involved both mental impartation and rigorous physical exercise which drew participants from mainly students of universities and other tertiary institutions, unemployed graduates, Senior Secondary school leavers, artisans, apprentices, housewives as well as applicants.

While presenting certificates and equipments to the participants, the Director General of CLTC Michael Fawole said the 2014 MDG programme focuses on both Value Reorientation and Empowerment for Nigerian Youths.

He said it was designed as part of the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to create wealth and enhance the capacity of Nigerian youths to participate in the economy of the nation.

Fawole said in acquiring new knowledge that would help participants become better citizens and responsible leaders, the programme also aimed at equipping them materially to stand on their feet economically.

He also warned the beneficiaries not to sell the equipments given to them by the Centre as doing so would amount to transferring their luck to the buyers, adding that the Centre has put machinery in place to monitor and evaluate the progress they would make in a few years from now.
