Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company, SNEPco, has donated two school buses and renovated a clinic at the Save our Soul (SOS) Children’s Village in Isolo, Lagos.

Managing Director, SNEPCO, Tony Attah, stated this at the commissioning of the SOS Children Village clinic and the end of the year children”s party in Lagos.

Represented by the Regional Health Manager, Sub- Saharan Africa, Dr Femi Oduneye, Attah explained that the projects will provide both immediate and long term value to the orphanage home.

He said: “We conducted a need- based assessment and identified this clinic, at the time the project was uncompleted, but we recognize it potentials to have a significant impact on the lives of children. It will give children within the environs and neighbouring communities the opportunity to access quality health care.

“We have gone further to honour the Children”s Village request for two new school buses. This is another demonstration of the extensive reach of this initiative. However, we are not oblivious to the fact that many children walk long distances to attend school every day, and this is not only physically tasking for them, but this reality also exposes them to attendant dangers” , he said.

He noted that the provision of these school buses will provide a safe and comfortable alternative to get kids to and from their respective schools, adding that the company is keen to ensure that local communities benefit from its presence.
