MAKURDI—Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor, yesterday, emerged as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State.

This is just as the former National Chairman of the party, Chief Barnabas Gemade polled a total of 1,206 votes to pick the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue North East Senatorial District at the party primary held in Katsina/Ala.

Gemade’s victory came few days after he defected from the ruling PDP where he was also, once a member of the Board of Trustees, BoT.

Tarzoor who beat his closest rival and Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Steven Lawani, polled a total of 517 votes out of the available 974 votes, while former Minister of State, Trade and Investments Dr. Samuel Ortom came a distant third with 111 votes.
