Ogun CP tasks newly promoted officers

By Kolade Larewaju

ABEOKUTA —THE Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Hashimu Argungu, has charged newly promoted 25 police officers of the Command, including former Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Olufemi Awoyale to be more responsible in their duties in order to make Nigeria a crime free country.

Argungu, said this at the decoration of the officers from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police in Abeokuta, yesterday.

The police boss who was represented by Deputy Police Commissioner, Mr. Patrick Dukumor, urged the officers to put in their best saying,”promotion is about higher tasks and expectation for higher success.”

He said, “promotion means higher responsibilities; it means more is expected of you. You will be given higher tasks and you are expected to make success of them. Those who recommended you for promotion believed that you are capable of performing better at higher posts. Your new posts have not been decided yet; so, you are expected to remain responsible at all times.”

Former Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Femi Awoyale, who was among the promoted officers, said the Police Service Commission recognized merit which he noted would continue to serve as encouragement to them.
