ABEOKUTA— An expatriate with the German construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria, who was kidna-pped by four gunmen last Friday, has been released.
He was reportedly released yesterday morning and had since reunited with his family and officials of the company in Lagos.
The expatriate’s colleague was reportedly shot when they were ambushed by their abductors and later died in the hospital.
It was gathered that the attack was carried out by the abductors while they were on their way to the company’s quarry at Ogbere, in Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Confirming the release of the expatriate, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi said he was released in the early hours of yesterday.
Vanguard gathered that ransom was paid.
