Man remanded over phones, N180,000 theft

Lagos—A middle aged man, Adebiola Micheal, was, yesterday, arraigned before a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere over an alleged theft of two black berry phones and N180,000 cash from one Adeola Adirat.

The defendant, who is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery preferred against him by the state, was docked before Justice O. Opesanwo.

Prosecuting counsel, Afolabi Sholebo, told the court that the defendant committed the crime at Access Bank road, University of Lagos, Akoka.

He said the robbery attack took place on March 26, 2012, at about 9p.m.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant and others still at large, committed the crime while armed with a gun.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge as Justice Opesanwo ordered that he be remanded in prison custody.

The matter was adjourned till November 25 for trial.
