ABUJA—Arewa Youths for Goodluck, has commended the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke for the recent shake-up in the Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC.
The group, in a statement by its President, Mr. Oluwaseun Ojo, said the decision of the minister to give the appointment of the Group Managing Director, GMD, of the NNPC ato the core north indicated that the Goodluck Jonathan administration was sensitive to the agitations of the youths in northern Nigeria.
Mrs. Maduekwe, announced the appointment of Mr. Joseph Thlama Dawha from Borno State as the new GMD of the NNPC.
The statement read: “We congratulated the minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke over the appointment of Mr. Joseph Thlama Dawha as the new Group Managing Director of the NNPC. This appointment has further reinforced our conviction that the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan is sensitive to the yearnings of the youths in northern Nigeria, and that the president loves the people of Borno State as much as he loves the people of Bayelsa and Ondo states.”
