DUTSE — Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has faulted agitation for the registration of non citizens, especially northerners, in some states in the south, describing the idea as selfish interest capable of jeopardizing the existing relationship betweennorth and south.

Speaking in  Dutse, Lamido said his government would not embark on any registration exercise of non citizens, saying every Nigerian had a legitimate right to live in any state of the federation he or she wished as a citizen of this country.
He said plans were underway for non citizens in the state to be given fund that would enable them build their centres as government had already provided them with land for that purpose.

According to him, “we are determining to fulfill this pledge soonest, as each tribal group will benefit from the designed arrangement.
”We are now in a crucial situation, as Nigerians are living in fear any where they found themselves. Political leaders from top to down are desperate of power, they don’t give a damn to what is happening to their people. We must continue praying for God to provide us with solution to the present predicament.”

According to the governor, Jigawa people should thank God for witnessing tremendous changes across the state in terms of physical and infrastructural developments in the last seven years.
He commended the traditional institution and the people of Jigawa State for their support and understanding in assisting him to run the affairs of the state.

He attributed his seven years success to their support and cooperation and called on them to continue with their prayers for peace to reign in the country.
