Ikwerre Democratic Initiative and Alliance, IDIA, and Obolo Consultative Forum, OCF, have endorsed the clamour by the Ogoni ethnic nationality to produce the next governor of Rivers State, come 2015.

Coordinator of IDIA, Dr. Eze Emenike, and leader of OCF, Chief Ala Nte,  spoke in their separate speeches in  Bori, during the inauguration of the Khana Local Government chapter of Ogoni Democratic Movement, ODM.
Dr. Emenike described the Ogoni governorship project as “an idea which time has come,” and called on the people to believe in their ability to produce a successor to Governor Rotimi  Amaechi in 2015.

He said: “Ogoni Project 2015 is an idea and its time has come. If you believe, it will come to pass.  Carry along other parts of the state during your stay in the Brick House from May 29, 2015, just like my brother Amaechi is doing.”

On his part, OCF leader, Chief Nte, said that the People of Obolo (Andoni) ethnic nationality were solidly behind the Ogoni governorship project, pointing out that their support was in appreciation of similar gestures given to them by the Ogonis that led to the emergence of their son as Chairman of one of the political parties in Rivers State.

“Obolo people are solidly in support of the ODM campaign for an Ogoni governor. When God says it is time, nothing can stop it. Ogoni governorship project has come to stay. We are supporting the Ogonis because they supported us in the election of our son as Chairman of APC in the state,” he said.

Earlier in his address, President-General, ODM, Mr. Godwin Bazari, said that the people of Ogoni have suffered enough and called on political parties in the country to pick their gubernatorial candidates for the forthcoming governorship election in Rivers State from Ogoni.
