UMUAHIA — ABIA State government has lashed out at the former governor of the state, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, over his attack on it, describing his action as irresponsible.

Orji Kalu in a recent media comment was quoted to have said that the state was backward and was not working, in terms of development.

The government in a statement through the Senior Special Assistant on Print Media to the Governor, Mr. Eddie Onuzuruike, described Kalu as uncharitable and self-serving.

He said:  “Kalu is a drowning politician who is looking for something to hang on to. He has lost face with Abians after inflicting pains on them during his inglorious eight years rule.

“In his characteristic manner, Kalu blamed his self-inflicted travails on the high flying Governor of Abia State, Chief T.A. Orji (Ochendo)”

“While it is not our intention to dignify the misguided comments of a drowning man, nonetheless, it is pertinent to address some of the issues he raised in order to put the records straight.
