BENIN CITY—Concerned Ugborodo Indigenes, CUI, in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, yesterday, commended Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for bringing peace to Kokori community and urged him to apply same strategy in Ode Ugborodo community.

Noting that those allegedly behind the violence in the community, were being sponsored by some persons, who were bent on rubbishing the efforts of Governor Uduaghan on Ogidigben Export Processing Zone Project, they urged the governor, to take decisive steps to stop the violence as he had always done.

Ugborodo, made up of five closely-knit autonomous communities, namely, Ode-Ugborodo, Ogidigben, Ijaghalla, Ajudaibo and Madangho, is the host community to the Ogidigben Export Processing Zone project.
Addressing newsmen in Benin City, Edo State, Coordinator of the group, Mr Alex Eyengho, with other Itsekiri leaders, Chief Jolomi Matseagharun, Chief Pullen Essie Mimajemite among others, said the general public had been greatly misinformed about the “isolated lingering crisis in Ode-Ugborodo.

“The only Ugborodo community, where we currently have isolated breach of the peace is Ode-Ugborodo. We wish to state without any equivocation that this isolated act of criminality does not pose any threat whatsoever to the EPZ project as being painted by enemies of progress in Ugborodo.”
