*Late EnebeliSadness, dejection and abandonment filled the air last Thursday when the family of veteran actor Enebeli Elebuwa who died in an Indian hospital, on the 5th of December, last year remembered their hero.
At their Ijesha-Tedo, Surulere residence, Enebeli’s widow, Jennifer together with her three daughters relived unpleasant memories of the death of the actor. One of the daughters, Zaygay Enebeli explained that the decided to mark the one year exit of her dad quietly. With tears rolling down her cheek, she described her dad as “ a God fearing man,” adding that “ He liked to sing and play his guitar, he was our in-house comedian.
He was our best friend. He was the most generous person we have ever seen or met and a down to earth man. We missed everything about him. We missed his coming home in the evenings to play his guitar and saxophone.
He was a musician before he became a director and an actor. I guess most people didn’t know he was the lead singer in a music group called, Commodores. He was also among the Steve Rhodes Voices.”
Enebeli’s first daughter, Mrs. Odiachay Elebuwa Nwamaka hinted that there is a plan under way to immortalise the departed actor. “We will continue to honour him by going ahead with all his plans as well as his legacies.
He has a yet to be released album. We will release the album. We also plan to open a museum in his honour. He has a lot of artifacts and we do wish to set up a foundation where research will be carried out on such diseases as stroke, diabetes and hypertension.”
