Former Green Eagles winger, Adokiye Amiesimaka said the country was endowed with abundant football talents waiting to be discovered.

Amiesimaka told NAN  in Port Harcourt that the Golden Eaglets’ 2-0 victory over Uruguay in the  FIFA U-17 World Cup, had shown what Nigerian youths could do if provided the right opportunity.

He said the good thing about the team was that FIFA confirmed that they all passed the Magnetic Resonnace Imaging (MRI) test.

The MRI test were carried prior to the competition by FIFA to ascertain that all players were within the age range of 17 and under.

“Congratulations Nigeria, we have qualified for the semi final.

“I understand that FIFA has confirmed that our players passed the MRI test and that shows that we are truly endowed.”

Amiesimaka, a former chairman of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt said if the tempo was sustained, the country would reap the benefits in future.

“This shows that if we keep it up, sooner than later, we will be unstoppable, not just at the age grade level, but where it matters most, the senior National team,” he said.

The former Eagles star also praised coaches for their ability to raise young talents.

“I am happy for our coaches, who are all Nigerians. That also shows that they have the ability at the coaching level to do better than many others.

“So, we should look inwards not only for the talented young players but for our coaches too,” he said.
