ABAKALIKI-THE Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, Tuesday, assured Nigerians that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was effectively handling the insecurity situation bedevilling the country, especially in the North.

The BOT Chairman, who gave the assurance at the party’s secretariat in Abakaliki, declared that the country was passing through difficult times occasioned by insecurity and act of indiscipline.

“Nigeria is passing through difficult times; a lot of challenges created by insecurity and act of indiscipline; I want to appeal to you that Ebonyi should remain a focal point where we normally get positive signals”

He further assured the country that with respect to the Boko Haram insurgency in the North, the Committee set up by the Presidency was already at work to ensure that the menace was lay to rest in no distant time.

The former Minister of Works however appealed for patience and cooperation among all Nigerians as no stone would be left unturned until peace returned to all parts of the country.

“The security challenges in the country are effectively being handled by President Goodluck Jonathan and with respect to Boko Haram a committee is already working and the police are doing their job; there is no other miracle it can perform. I believe that the President handling the situation. He has set up committee to look into that; let wait and see what happens at the end”

Earlier, Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi state who thanked the BOT Chairman of the party for his visit added that the party would remain strong and formidable despite all the challenges facing it.

According to him, the state was not a failure as it concerned the operations of PDP in the country. Ends
