Veteran actress, Joke Silva has described her recent appointment as the Managing Director of Malete Film Village, in Kwara State as “shocking’, saying that she never expected it.
Malete Film Village is an independent venture of Kwara State University, established to produce films and also train film actors and other experts for the Nigerian film industry, and other film industries in Africa.
Though, Silva refused to disclose her plans to turnaround the film village, she said, she has assumed office since January, this year. According to her, for the Authorities at Kwara State University to deem it fit to appoint her as the Managing Director, given the fact that ,she is a Lagosian means that the spirit of one Nigeria still lives in us.
The management of the institution recently appointed her to head a Nollywood movie studio named Malete Film Village owned by the Institution.
According to reports, the actress, mother and producer has been charged with the task of not just building a movie studio in the school from scratch, she is also saddled with the responsibility of training people who love acting profession.
