Member representing Epe Constituency 11 in Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Olusegun Olulade, has described the ongoing crisis in Kogi State House of Assembly as a dangerous trend to the nation’s democracy.
According to him, the crisis in the Assembly is an act of legislative recklessness, which is below the level of the country.
He said: “You would note that Nigeria and the legislative arm of government has improved over the years because that is the only arm of government that legitimises governance and that is the arm that even legitimises the democracy that we are practicing.
“If that arm of government is weakened, I believe the people of the country, the local and state governments, where such is happening, will be seen as a failed State.”
He said the shutting of Kogi State House of Assembly by the National Assembly was in order, and that the nation cannot allow anarchy in the legislative arm of government.
