We won’t allow godfathers to destroy LP – Anambra chair

BY VINCENT UJUMADU

AWKA—ANAMBRA State chairman of Labour Party, LP, Comrade Sam Oraegbunam, has said in Awka, that the party would shun godfathers because they cause disunity among members.

Oraegbunam, who spoke during the commissioning of the state secretariat of the party, stated that LP would no longer tolerate a situation where people from other political parties infiltrated LP to cause confusion.

He insisted that those interested in vying for elective positions on the platform of LP must be credible persons with impeccable records.

The chairman’s statement came on the heels of a near chaos during the commissioning of the secretariat where a group led by the former state secretary of the party, Mr. Basil Iwuoba, attempted to stop the national chairman, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, from performing his function.
