WARRI—NATIONAL Public Relations Officer of Urhobo Youth Council (UYC),Comrade Gabriel Akpude, has commended Tompolo, Ateke, Dagogo, Boyloaf, Kuku and other ex-militant leaders for accepting the Federal Government’s amnesty, which has automatically restored peace to Niger Delta.

He made the commendation shortly after the executive meeting of the council  in Warri, where he urged the Federal Government to take advantage of the success of the amnesty to expedite action on the post-amnesty programme to ensure speedy development in the region.

Akpude also commended the Federal Government Amnesty Committee, led by Major General Godwin Abbe (rtd), Minister of Defence, Chief Tony Anenih, and other Niger Delta leaders who made the amnesty successful.

Urging Deltans to continue to support Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in actualizing his three-point agenda, Akpude also charged Orogun leaders to bury their differences and work for the development of the kingdom.
