ABEOKUTA — Following the alleged damage of 22 vehicles estimated at N2.750 million  allegedly by students of Federal College of Education, FCE, Osiele, Abeokuta, Association of Tippers and Quarry Owners of Nigeria, ATQON, Ogun State Chapter, yesterday, threatened legal action against the management of the college over the huge loss allegedly caused by the students.

It would be recalled that tragedy struck last Friday  when no fewer than five students of the college  were reportedly  crushed to death by a tipper.

The incident, which  led to pandemonium following the protest by the students who trooped to the road and allegedly set ablaze no fewer than four trucks and damaged 22 tippers  in protest of their colleagues’ death.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, had said none of the students died, adding that they were revived at General Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta.

At a briefing in Obantoko, Abeokuta,  the National Vice-Chairman, ATQON, Chief Fashola Ojewunmi, said , the driver  of the  trailer that rammed into the students was not  a member of the association.
