Nigerian content creator Onafowope Olumide Korede, popularly known as Paper Chaze, has built a growing digital entertainment career after an unexpected journey that took him from working at a filling station to becoming a content creator with more than one million followers.

Paper Chaze, who began creating content in 2024, has gained attention for comedy skits centred on relationships, family experiences and everyday life.

His growing presence on social media has also opened opportunities beyond comedy, including brand partnerships, event hosting, streaming, acting and entrepreneurship.

Born on May 30, 2000, into a family from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Olumide is the eldest of four children.

His journey into entertainment, however, was not part of his original career plan.

As a child, he wanted to become an automobile engineer but could not find a Nigerian institution offering the course in the manner he wanted to study it.

He subsequently turned his attention to medicine, with the ambition of becoming a doctor.

Content creation was not on his radar at the time.

After completing his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), circumstances prevented him from proceeding immediately to university. He instead spent about a year working at a filling station.

The experience later became an important period in his personal development, as he began to reconsider his ambitions and future career path.

Olumide eventually gained admission to the University of Lagos, where he studied psychology.

While at the university, he became known among his peers and was recognised as the Most Popular Student and Most Creative Student.

His leadership experience also began early, as he served as Head Boy during both his primary and secondary school years.

His transition into content creation came in 2024 when he began producing comedy videos for social media.

One of his early videos went viral and subsequently attracted a ₦1 million brand deal.

The deal became a significant milestone in his career and reinforced his decision to pursue content creation professionally.

Since then, Paper Chaze has continued to grow his digital audience and has received recognition within the entertainment industry, including two award wins and several nominations for his comedy.

His activities have also expanded beyond skit-making, with his social media profile identifying him as an event host and celebrity hypeman.

Away from entertainment, Olumide has ventured into entrepreneurship through Stay Chessed Realty, a business focused on housing, luxury apartments and shortlet services.

He has described starting the business early in his career as one of the decisions that has significantly shaped his journey.

He is also involved in streaming and acting as he continues to diversify his career.

For the content creator, his family remains a major source of motivation as he builds his career across entertainment and business.
