There is a simple rule in the smartphone market: if you want high-end features, be prepared to pay high-end prices.

But Samsung appears to be challenging that rule with its latest offering, the Galaxy S26 FE.

The smartphone brings several features associated with premium flagship devices, while keeping its price below the N1 million mark, making it an interesting proposition for consumers who want more without breaking the bank.

Still part of the Galaxy S26 family, the S26 FE comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a triple rear-camera system comprising wide, ultra-wide and telephoto cameras.

For photography and content creators, Samsung has packed the device with some interesting tricks.
Its AI-powered camera tools can reframe subjects in videos, while Super Steady Video with Horizontal Lock is designed to keep footage stable even when the user is moving. So, whether it is a running pet, a moving car or an action scene, shaky footage could become less of a headache.

The phone also comes with wider selfie capability that automatically adjusts the frame when another person joins the shot.

Then there is Galaxy AI.

The S26 FE offers features such as real-time call translation, Interpreter, Call Screening, Transcript Assist, Browsing Assist, Photo Assist and Audio Eraser.

Call Screening can help filter unknown or unwanted calls, while Transcript Assist can turn conversations into text, identify different speakers and summarise meetings.

Audio Eraser, meanwhile, can identify unwanted sounds in videos and help reduce distractions from voices, crowds and other background noise.

Samsung is also throwing in some extras.

Buyers get six months of Google AI Pro at no extra cost, while Smart Switch makes it easier to transfer files and, for supported eSIM devices, move eSIM information to the new phone without visiting a network operator.

Quick Share also allows users to share files and pictures across compatible devices, including between Android and Apple devices through supported sharing capabilities.

Under the hood, the S26 FE is powered by Samsung’s Exynos processor, with storage options including 128GB, 256GB and 512GB variants. It packs a 4,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

But perhaps one of its biggest selling points is longevity.

Samsung promises up to seven years of security updates and multiple generations of operating system upgrades, meaning buyers can expect the phone to remain relevant for years.

For added protection, Samsung Care+ offers repair and protection coverage, with customers able to register within the stipulated period after purchase.

With the Galaxy S26 FE, Samsung is assuring consumers that they no longer have to empty their pockets before enjoying a taste of flagship smartphone possibilities.
