The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has partnered with AFN Global Services Limited to launch a 10-day technical training for 50 youths in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to boost jobs in Nigeria’s growing tech and security services sector.

The programme, which commenced on June 29 and will run till July 10, 2026, focuses on the Installation and Repairs of DSTV, CCTV Cameras and Starlink Systems. Speaking on the initiative, organisers said the training is in line with NCDMB’s mandate to build local capacity and ensure Nigerians benefit from opportunities in the oil and gas value chain and allied sectors.

Participants are receiving practical, hands-on instruction in satellite dish installation and troubleshooting, CCTV system design, mounting and maintenance, as well as Starlink terminal setup and network configuration. AFN Global Services Limited, the training partner, said the curriculum was designed to be practical and industry-focused, with field simulations to make beneficiaries job-ready immediately after the programme.

“At the end of the training, each of the 50 selected youths will be equipped with startup tools and certification. This will enable them to either start their own businesses or secure employment in the fast-growing tech and security services market,” the firm stated.

The Board and AFN Global Services said the empowerment drive will also help reduce unemployment and promote self-reliance among youths in Rivers State and the Niger Delta region. Certificates of participation and empowerment kits are expected to be presented to all beneficiaries at a graduation ceremony on July 10, 2026, in Port Harcourt.
