…as party promises people-centred governance, accountability, rule of law

The governorship candidate of the BOOT Party in Ogun State for the 2027 general election, Engr. Adekunle Adenuga, has declared that he possesses practical and well-researched solutions to the developmental challenges confronting the state, saying he has spent the last 16 years preparing a comprehensive governance blueprint.

Adenuga made the declaration on Friday, during the unveiling of the Party candidates, for the 2027 general elections, at the party’s secretariat in Arinlese, Abeokuta.

Expressing gratitude to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him, Adenuga said he accepted the nomination with a deep sense of responsibility and a firm commitment to delivering purposeful leadership that would transform Ogun State.

According to him, his ambition is not driven by a desire to criticise previous administrations, but by a determination to provide practical and lasting solutions to the problems confronting the state and the country.

He disclosed that the development blueprint his team has painstakingly prepared over the past 16 years was originally designed as a national governance agenda, but would be implemented first in Ogun State as a model for the rest of the country.

Adenuga lamented that Nigerians had continued to hear recurring campaign promises on healthcare, education, infrastructure, security and other critical sectors without corresponding improvements, insisting that the BOOT Party would offer a different approach, anchored on practical implementation rather than rhetoric.

“I accept the responsibility of being the governorship candidate of this great party with gratitude and humility. Over the last 16 years, I have devoted myself to researching and developing practical solutions to the problems confronting our society.

“We have carefully prepared a comprehensive governance agenda, and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to begin unveiling that vision from Ogun State,” he said.

The governorship hopeful added that his political journey had been built on preparation rather than publicity.

“I did not come to condemn anyone or apportion blame. My mission is to identify our challenges and implement practical solutions. Nigeria’s problems have been discussed extensively by experts and political leaders over the years. The challenge is no longer identifying the problems; it is implementing the right solutions.

“Our blueprint was designed for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, but every meaningful transformation must begin somewhere. We have chosen Ogun State as the starting point to demonstrate what purposeful leadership can achieve. Once people begin to see the results, other states will naturally want to replicate the model,” he stated.

Adenuga further said that he deliberately refrained from making the usual campaign promises associated with elections.

“I don’t intend to repeat what Nigerians have heard repeatedly from politicians about healthcare, education, infrastructure, security and other sectors. Those conversations have continued for years.

“What we are presenting is a carefully structured and practical plan developed over 16 years. When the appropriate time comes, we will unveil the full details of our agenda, and the people will judge us by the quality of our ideas and our commitment to implementation,” he added.

Earlier, the Chairman of the BOOT Party in the State, Arch. Abiodun Akerele, said the party’s philosophy was built on transparency, accountability, obedience to the rule of law and selfless service.

Akerele explained that the party operates under the motto, “Fiduciary, Obedience and Service,” stressing that responsible management of public resources remained one of its core principles.

According to him, the BOOT Party distinguishes itself through financial accountability by complying with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) requirement of submitting annual audited financial reports detailing the party’s income and expenditure.

“Our party gives a detailed account of every income and expenditure every year as required by INEC. Accountability is one of our core values, and when entrusted with public office, we will ensure that every resource placed in our care on behalf of the people is prudently managed and properly accounted for,” Akerele said.

He also emphasized the importance of strict adherence to both the party’s constitution and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Without obedience, there can be no discipline, no progress and no orderly society. Our party believes in respect for rules, regulations and constitutional order. Every member is expected to abide by the party’s constitution because discipline is the foundation of good governance,” he stated.

Akerele emphasized that the BOOT Party was established to serve the people rather than advance personal interests.

“Politics should be about service, not personal enrichment. Our commitment is to put the welfare of the people first. Every elected official under this party will see public office as an opportunity to serve the citizens and improve their quality of life,” he added.
