A prominent Ijaw leader and Executive Assistant on Political Matters to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Deacon Arede Edenmene, has said the governor’s birthday came at a period that serves as an antidote that calmed and doused fraying nerves to resolved Warri Federal Constituency Ward delineation uproar.

Speaking with newsmen in Warri, Delta State, Edenmene said: “The governor’s birthday came at a period that serves as antidote to calm, douse raging nerves and resolved potential crisis following the delineation of the Warri federal constituency by the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC.”

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for capping the peace deal initiated by Governor Oborevwori amongst the three major ethnic nationalities in the area, the Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri.

According him, Oborevwori birthday which coincided with the period of tension in Warri federal Constituency ward delineation uproar was a divinely assigned to soften the hearts of the leaders from the three ethnic nationalities when the governor convened the peace meeting.

Edenmene said that Oborevwori meeting with the three ethnic groups fostered unity and understanding amongst them in Warri, describing the governor as a grassroots leader who appreciates the importance of peaceful coexistence for development.

While celebrating the governor on his birthday, he held that the governor’s exampliary life of humility, dedication, resilience and purposeful leadership made him outstanding amongst his counterparts.

He noted that the governor has demonstrated capacity in steering the affairs of the state with prudence, vision, a deep sense of responsibility which he noted has strengthened public trust and confidence amongst the diverse people of the state.

Edenmene further commended him for his compassion, genuine concern for security, peace and welfare for his people, which he described as hallmarks of a true leader.

Edenmene enjoined Deltans to continue to maintain a peaceful environment that would attract government and investors to their areas and urged them to have patience with the Oborevwori administration.
