The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the August 15, 2026 election in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has pledged to revitalise the state’s economy through strategic investments, job creation and industrial development.

Speaking during the inauguration of 5,100 canvassers drawn from Iwo, Ayedade and Ola-Oluwa local government areas, Oyebamiji said his administration would prioritise key sectors of the economy and improve the welfare of residents if elected governor.

According to him, the state’s finances and economy would be restructured to drive sustainable growth, with special attention given to agriculture, commerce, security, youth development and women’s empowerment.

“The finances and economy of the state will be re-engineered, while priority will be given to critical sectors such as agriculture, commerce, security, youth and women empowerment,” he said.

Oyebamiji added that his administration would raise the standard of governance through policies aimed at improving livelihoods and accelerating development across the state.

He urged the newly inaugurated canvassers to take the party’s message directly to voters, stressing that grassroots mobilisation would be crucial to the party’s success at the polls.

“Our victory will depend largely on effective engagement with voters at the grassroots. You must take our message to every community and household,” he told the canvassers.

Earlier, the Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Oluwole Oke, expressed confidence in the party’s electoral strategy, saying the campaign team was fully prepared for the election.

“We will deploy every legitimate strategy necessary to ensure that Oyebamiji emerges victorious. We are very good at removing a sitting governor,” he said.

Also speaking, the Osun APC State Secretary and Chairman of the Campaign Council for Iwo Federal Constituency, Alao Kamoru, disclosed that 30 canvassers were selected from each of the 170 polling units in Iwo Federal Constituency, bringing the total number inaugurated to 5,100.

He said the initiative was designed to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and enhance voter outreach ahead of the governorship election.
