A Nigerian father, Barrister John Ogigbah, has expressed immense joy following the graduation of his youngest son, Oghenerukevwe Ogigbah, with Distinction from MacEwan University, Canada.

Oghenerukevwe received his degree during the university’s June 2026 Spring Convocation in Edmonton, Alberta, achieving the highest academic honour awarded by the institution.

Speaking on the achievement, Barrister Ogigbah described the accomplishment as a source of great pride and fulfillment for the entire family.

“This great news has brought immense joy not only to our immediate family but also to all our relatives and friends who have cheered him on over the years,” he said.

According to him, the success was the result of God’s grace, years of dedication, hard work and quality education rather than mere chance.

He traced his son’s academic journey to his early education at Environ Nursery and Primary School in Surulere, Lagos, before proceeding to Fountain Heights College, also in Surulere, where he further developed his academic potential.

“These schools laid the foundation that prepared him to meet the rigorous standards of a foreign university,” he noted.

Barrister Ogigbah also commended Maple Education Canada Inc. for its role in facilitating his son’s educational journey abroad.

He said the organisation provided expert guidance and counselling that made the transition to studying in Canada smooth and stress-free for the family.

“We also want to say a special thank you to the team at Maple Education Canada Inc. Their support and professional advice helped illuminate the path and made the journey much easier for us,” he said.

Congratulating his son, the proud father said the achievement had brought honour to the Ogigbah family and showcased Nigerian excellence on the global stage.

“You have brought great honour to the Ogigbah family name, made your father’s deepest hopes come true, and lifted the Nigerian flag high abroad as a shining example of brilliance,” he said.

He prayed for continued success and impact in his son’s future endeavours as he embarks on the next phase of his career and life.
