Former aspirant for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ethiope West Constituency II, Hon. Atueyi Ogheneochuko Isaac, has formally declared his intention to contest for the seat representing the newly created Ethiope West Constituency II and appealed for the support of political leaders, stakeholders, and residents of the constituency ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The politician first contested for the Delta State House of Assembly seat in 2022 when Ethiope West existed as a single constituency. Following the recent creation of Ethiope West Constituency II, he said he is offering himself to serve the people and contribute meaningfully to the development of the newly delineated constituency.

Atueyi, who is a younger brother of the late Hon. Engr. Innocent Atueyi, former President-General of OGHAREKI UNITY (OGS) Set 1999, an alumni group that also includes Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, said he remains committed to supporting policies and programmes that will improve the welfare of the people and attract greater development to communities across the constituency.

“My aspiration is driven by a commitment to delivering effective representation, grassroots development, youth empowerment, and human capital advancement.”

In a statement announcing his intention, Atueyi said: “Together, let us build a future anchored on visionary representation, sustainable grassroots development, youth empowerment, human capital advancement, and transformational leadership.”

He noted that with collective support and unity of purpose, the aspirations and interests of the people of Ethiope West Constituency II could be translated into meaningful development, greater opportunities, and lasting progress across the constituency.

The former House of Assembly aspirant recalled his previous participation in the race for the legislative seat and his consistent support for the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Government, saying he has remained committed to advancing the welfare of the people and attracting the dividends of democracy to the constituency.

Atueyi therefore appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as well as party leaders, stakeholders, elders, and supporters across Ethiope West, to back his aspiration to represent the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.

He also urged Governor Oborevwori to recognise and consolidate the contributions of his late brother, Hon. Engr. Innocent Atueyi, whom he described as a loyal supporter of the administration.

According to him, his late brother remained steadfast in his support for the governor during critical moments of the state’s political journey, committing his time, resources, and political goodwill towards the success of the administration.

“In recognition of his dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering loyalty, I respectfully appeal that his contributions and legacy be remembered and consolidated upon through support for my aspiration and continued service to our people,” he stated.

Atueyi further called on residents of Ethiope West Constituency II to embrace a shared vision of inclusive governance, accessible leadership, youth inclusion, human capital development, and responsive representation.

He expressed confidence that with the support of the people, the constituency could witness greater development and stronger representation, stressing that every community and citizen should have the opportunity to benefit from good governance.

“The time is now. The opportunity is here. Together, let us move Ethiope West Constituency II forward,” he said.
