The organisers of the International Hospitality, Tourism & Eco-Sustainability Forum (IHTEF) have said that this year’s edition is aimed at strengthening tourism in Africa and youth empowerment.

In a statement, the convener, Chibuikem Diala, noted that the forum will hold at the Nigerian Army Conference Centre & Suites (NACCAS), Asokoro Abuja from May 22-23, 2026.

Diala stated that the summit has continued to evolve as one of Africa’s leading hospitality and tourism platforms, bringing together stakeholders in the industry and beyond.

“IHTEF has grown into a strategic platform driving conversations around hospitality investment, sustainability, tourism development, workforce transformation, and regional collaboration across Africa. We remain fully committed to delivering a world-class Summit experience.

“This year’s edition, themed:
“Investing in Africa’s Sustainable Hospitality Future” will feature high-level panel sessions, investment dialogues, hospitality exhibitions, masterclasses, skills development sessions, among other activities.

“IHTEF 9.0 is expected to further strengthen continental conversations around sustainable hospitality growth, tourism investment, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and the future of Africa’s service economy”, the statement read.

Diala further noted that Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of The Gambia, Abdoulie Jobe are among stakeholders expected at the summit.
