LAGOS— Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal M. Umar, yesterday, in Lagos, urged men and officers of the Nigerian Air Force to be more vigilant in their daily activities, noting that the current security challenge in the country needed to be tackled holistically.
The Air chief gave the advice at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, NAFRC, Oshodi, Lagos, while commissioning some completed projects, including the new corporate headquarters of the centre.
He said: “Let me remind us of the security challenges confronting our dear nation today. We must continue to remain vigilant and be security- conscious of our environment and, of ourselves.”
”May I reiterate at this point that one of our roles as enunciated in the constitution is the provision of aids to civil authorities; we must continue to subordinate ourselves to the civilian administration while assisting towards sustenance of internal peace.
