Real estate tech firm secures workplace certification

Real estate tech firm secures workplace certification

A real estate technology firm, Abode Assets, says it has secured a ‘Great Place to Work’ certification, a recognition that points to growing attention to workplace standards within Nigeria’s expanding proptech sector.

The certification, awarded by Great Place to Work Institute Nigeria, is based on employee feedback and an independent assessment of organisational culture. It recognises companies that meet defined benchmarks in trust, leadership credibility and staff engagement.

Abode’s Co-founder and CEO, Jeffrey Itepu, said the firm surpassed the benchmark trust index score of 65 percent, reflecting strong employee confidence in leadership, culture and growth opportunities.

“This recognition came at a time when workplace well-being has become a critical concern,” he stated. According to insights from the AIS Workplace Stress Survey, employee burnout remains a growing challenge across industries, often affecting productivity and long-term performance.

Itepu emphasised the importance of building sustainable workplace cultures in Nigeria’s evolving business landscape.

“There is a common fear that as companies grow, they become harder places to work, especially in a fast-paced and competitive environment like ours.

“At Abode, we have intentionally built a system that encourages healthy competition, rewards performance and supports our people in their pursuit of excellence. This recognition validates that commitment.”

Also reacting, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Damilare Oshokoya, highlighted the company’s broader vision beyond real estate, saying, “We are not just building a company; we are building people. By creating a healthy and empowering work environment, we are producing a workforce that drives growth, innovation and productivity, not just within Abode, but across the real estate sector and the wider economy.”

He noted that the company’s culture reflects a dynamic blend of Gen Z and millennial talent, creating a modern workplace where collaboration, creativity and expression thrive.

“This unique environment continues to attract young professionals eager to participate in a mission-driven company focused on shared prosperity, wealth creation and technology-driven access to property ownership.

“As a leading platform in digital real estate and co-ownership, Abode is redefining how everyday Nigerians access property leveraging technology to simplify acquisition, enable fractional ownership and unlock new pathways to wealth.

“The certification not only strengthens our employer brand but also reinforces its position as a company, where innovation meets impact and where people are empowered to grow, while building solutions that democratise real estate investment across Africa.

“With this milestone, Abode continues to set the pace as a leading proptech company, proving that the future of work and the future of wealth creation can and should be built together,” he stated.
