OSOGBO – In celebration of Ramadan and the Lenten season, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun State have distributed 1,600 50-kg bags of rice to Muslim and Christian groups.
The distribution also extended to labour unions, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and various ethnic communities, including Hausa, Igbo, and Igala groups.
Speaking at the exercise held at the Tinubu-Shettima campaign office in Osogbo, the Osun State Coordinator, Hon. Sunday Akere, said the initiative aimed to ease the burden of expensive celebrations for the less privileged and ensure that every home has food for the festive season.
He said, “The Muslims have fasted for 30 days, and to the glory of God, Eid-el-Fitr will be celebrated. Our proprietor deemed it fit to reach out in the spirit of giving so that every home can enjoy the Eid celebration.
“Likewise, the Christians are observing 40 days of fasting in preparation for Easter, and President Bola Tinubu would not want less privileged persons to be left out of this celebration.
“To this end, we are distributing 1,600 bags of 50kg rice to Muslim communities, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), labour unions, student groups, ethnic communities, and many others,” he added.
