Managing Director of Henrienco Construction Company, Engr. Henry Ochuko Odugba, yesterday, charged the people of Emevor and the entire Isoko Nation to ensure the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sherrif Oborewovri as President and Governor, respectively.
Odugba, who gave the charge in Emevor when he played host to the youth body of Emevor Progress Union, EPU, said the duo have made governance look easy considering the massive harvest of projects in Delta State and across the country .
Engr. Odugba, who was represented by his media assistant, Comrade Anthony Arugba, highlighted some of the significant achievements of President Tinubu to include economic reforms, including removing petrol subsidy, unifying foreign exchange rates, and improving revenue mobilization, leading to increased state allocations, reduced debt service-to-revenue ratios, and rising foreign reserves.
On Governor Sheriff Oborewovri, Engr. Odugba noted that since Governor Oborewovri came on board, Delta State has a semblance of a construction site, given the many ongoing as well as completed projects spread across the state.
He said, inter-alia : “ Invariably, Governor Sherrif decided to work on the infrastructure of Delta State, particularly areas like Warri and Effurun. We know that for the past 26 years that civilian rule was restored, Warri has not been properly attended to. And he did say during his inaugural speech that he will attend to Warri in order to restore the twin-city of Effurun and Warri to their hitherto lost glory.
“ On assumption of office three years ago, the governor took a concrete step by awarding three mega projects to Julius Berger to handle the flyover at Enerhen Juntion, PTI Junction and Effurun. And as we speak, the work is near completion.
“ One of the basis for bringing this construction giant is to ensure that Deltans get value for their money. And of course, given the track record, expertise and competence of Julius Berger, nothing less has been delivered.
“In addition, the Governor launched the MORE Grant Scheme for petty traders, artisans and female entrepreneurs with 5,426 persons from poor and vulnerable households in the state benefitting. Infrastructure development and human capital development are vital aspect of governance in any clime. Clearly, our governor came prepared and we are happy with his exceptional performance within this near three years.”
Speaking further, he thanked Deltans for their unwavering support for the President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori administration and urged all to sustain the support beyond 2027.
The Chairman of the All Progressives’ Congress, APC, Emevor Ward, Mr. Philip Oghogho, expressed the readiness of the party to work for President Tinubu and Governor Oborewovri in view of their performance, just as he called on Deltans to do same in order to reap more dividends of democracy.
He recalled with nostalgia how Engr. Odugba provided transformer for Emevor Community during Hon. Leo Ogor’s tenure as House Representatives member and how he sponsored NIN registration recently for Emevor people, praying that God would continue to bless and enlarge his coast.
On his part, the youth President of Emevor Progress Union, EPU, Mr. Samuel Owhoka, thanked Engr. Odugba for his community development initiatives, assuring that the entire youths of the community would work assiduously for the re-election of Tinubu and Sherrif.
