The Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Mr. Segun David Odunmbaku, on Tuesday swore in 21 newly appointed supervisors and special advisers, charging them to prioritise service and contribute meaningfully to the development of the council and the community.

Speaking during the brief swearing-in ceremony held in his office, Odunmbaku urged the appointees to demonstrate commitment, loyalty and dedication to the administration, stressing that the era of politics had ended and the time for governance had begun.

According to him, the council requires their cooperation to deliver on its mandate and ensure progress across the community.
“To the new supervisors, the community needs you. This is time to work, not to play politics. You must show that you can add value to the community and the administration because people are keeping records of what we are doing,” he said.

Odunmbaku emphasised the importance of party loyalty, noting that collective commitment to the party’s ideals would strengthen governance at the grassroots.
He said: “Nobody is bigger than our party because the party is supreme and there is a lot for us to achieve. Politics has ended, work has started. This is a moment for you to cherish. Ojodu LCDA is home and I always look out for everybody, so there is nothing to fear. The party is supreme.”

The Vice Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Mrs. Funmilayo Layeni, commended Odunmbaku for what she described as his “large and good heart,” while urging the new appointees to remain loyal to the administration and the party.
“We are 100 per cent behind and beside you. I commend you for allowing peace to reign. As new appointees, you are coming into this local government not to divide us but to unite us,” she said.

Also speaking, the Assistant Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, Mr. Oludele Sonola, called on the appointees to embrace unity and work closely with the chairman to sustain the council’s development strides.
He noted that Odunmbaku had been ranked the third most performing chairman among the 57 council chairmen in Lagos State.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Mr. Femi Fadeyi expressed appreciation to the chairman for the opportunity to serve, pledging their readiness to support the administration in advancing development in Ojodu.

“You have considered a few of us among the many people in Ojodu to be part of your administration, which means you saw something in us. We are ready to move Ojodu forward,” he said.
