Nigerian Youth Group announces ‘Award of Dishonour’ Initiative

The Organising Committee of the forthcoming International World Youth Day for Unemployed Youths of Nigeria has announced the introduction of a new category titled the “Award of Dishonour.”

According to the organisers, the category was created to draw attention to what they described as “avoidable moral failings in public duty.”

In a statement issued to the press, the Coordinator, Comrade Danesi Momoh Prince, explained that the award is intended as a symbolic expression of youth-led civic engagement and accountability.

He noted that the initiative reflects concerns raised within sections of the public sphere and is designed to promote greater responsibility and responsiveness among public office holders.

The symbolic presentation is scheduled to take place on March 10, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. (WAT) at the entrance of the National Assembly of Nigeria in Abuja, as part of activities marking the International Youth Day programme for unemployed youths in Nigeria.

The organisers emphasised that the initiative is aimed at encouraging constructive dialogue on governance and public service delivery.
