The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Abeokuta Hills, has reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian impact with the 6th edition of its annual Carnival of Love Medical Outreach, held at weekend.

The outreach, held at the Amphitheatre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, attracted over 100 beneficiaries, who received free medical services aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and encouraging early detection of common health conditions.

Participants underwent comprehensive health screenings, including blood pressure checks, malaria test, blood glucose screening, and general medical consultations.

Health professionals at the programme also provided essential medical advice and health education, equipping the beneficiaries with practical knowledge on healthy living, lifestyle management, and disease prevention.

For many, the outreach proved more than a routine health exercise—it was a timely intervention. Several participants were found to have elevated blood pressure levels, while blood glucose tests identified individuals requiring further medical evaluation.

On-the-spot malaria test enabled prompt diagnosis and immediate guidance on treatment where necessary.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, the President of JCI Abeokuta Hills, JCIN Amb. David Iyanda, emphasized that preventive healthcare remains one of the most effective strategies for reducing long-term medical complications.

He noted that by taking healthcare services directly to the people, the organisation continues to bridge critical gaps in community access to basic medical care.

Beyond the clinical services, the outreach transitioned into a vibrant bonding session that fostered fellowship among members and guests.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie, reflecting the true spirit of Valentine’s Day. The bonding segment was widely applauded as it strengthened unity and reinforced a shared commitment to service.

Over the years, the Carnival of Love has grown into a flagship humanitarian project of JCI Abeokuta Hills, seamlessly blending health intervention with social engagement.

The 2026 edition once again underscored the organisation’s unwavering dedication to sustainable community development in Abeokuta and its environs.
