2027: PBAT Mandate Elders Forum drum support for Tinubu’s re-election

The PBAT Mandate Elders Forum has promised maximum support for the re- election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

They equally hailed the interior Minister Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for his support for the elderly citizens across Ondo State to access quality medical screening and care at no cost in line with the pursuit of 2nd Term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

The free medical intervention covered surgical operation, comprehensive medical checks, including blood pressure, blood sugar levels, eye examinations, prostate condition and general health assessments.

Speaking on the follow-up phase of the health outreach initiative, the Chairman of the PBAT Mandate Elders Forum, Chief Erastus Akeju, expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far, noting that the follow-up treatment underscores the seriousness of the initiative and the commitment to ensuring that identified health challenges are properly addressed.

The health outreach initiative was sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo,

Chief Akeju, said that the elders currently undergoing treatment are being managed for various ailments detected during the initial outreach, with medical professionals providing close monitoring and appropriate care to ensure full recovery and improved quality of life.

The Facilitator of Forum, Hon. Demola Ijabiyi described the intervention as a practical demonstration of compassionate leadership and people-centred governance, particularly towards senior citizens who often struggle with access to adequate healthcare.

Hon. Ijabiyi noted that the hospital bills including the surgery were paid for by the Minister and beneficiaries were also given transport fare.

“The PBAT Mandate Elders Forum reaffirmed its resolve to continue advocating for initiatives that promote the welfare, dignity and inclusion of elders in Ondo State.

He assured that follow-up monitoring would continue until all beneficiaries receive adequate medical attention.

Beneficiary elders, while receiving treatment, expressed deep appreciation to the PBAT Mandate Elders Forum and Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for prioritising their health and wellbeing, describing the initiative as timely and life-saving.

One of the beneficiaries who could not hide his feelings said the health intervention and care for the elders is unprecedented in Ondo State and he would go to any length at supporting the Minister, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo at achieving his purpose.
