The family of late Dr. Akinsanya Sunny Ajose, OON, Apex Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry and a member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), has marked the first anniversary of his death, describing the loss as one that profoundly altered their lives and outlook.

The first son of the late APC leader, Mr. Sunny Ajose Jnr., said the passage of one year without their father had been a period of deep reflection and adjustment, noting that his death “shattered the world as they knew it.”

Ajose Jnr. stated this in a message released to journalists in Badagry in a statement signed by Prince Sunday Oke, former Private Secretary and Media Aide to the late Dr. Ajose.

Speaking on behalf of the Ajose family, he said the remembrance was not only a time of mourning but also an opportunity to recommit to the values his father stood for throughout his life and public service.

“As we come together to celebrate his memory, we remain inspired to uphold the values he embodied—kindness, honesty and integrity,” he said. “May his legacy remain the light that guides us. May he rest in peace.”

He also expressed appreciation to key national and state leaders for their support to the family and for the roles they played in the political journey and growth of his late father.

Ajose Jnr. specifically thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for what he described as their unwavering support and guidance over the years.

In addition, he acknowledged members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, political office holders in Badagry Federation, and other political leaders across the Badagry axis for standing by the family since the demise of the APC chieftain.

The late Dr. Akinsanya Sunny Ajose was widely regarded as a stabilising force in Badagry politics and a respected leader within the APC in Lagos State.

Ajose Jnr. urged political leaders and residents of Badagry to continue to uphold the ideals, values and norms associated with his late father, stressing that such commitment remained vital to the political and socio-economic progress of the Badagry Federation.
