Former Director-General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, has called on local and foreign investors to take advantage of emerging opportunities in Imo State, saying the state has opened up as a fast-growing investment hub following the recently concluded Imo Economic Summit.
Onaiwu commended the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, for the successful hosting of the summit, describing it as a significant milestone in redefining the state’s economic direction and unlocking new avenues for growth and development.
According to him, the summit recorded notable outcomes that have positioned Imo State as an attractive investment destination in Nigeria. He noted that the event drew strong interest from major business players and highlighted investment prospects estimated at over $200 million, particularly in agro-export opportunities.
He said the summit also focused on strategic sectors such as agro-processing and renewable energy, which he described as critical drivers for sustainable economic expansion and job creation in the state.

“These developments have created real momentum for Imo State to emerge as a strong economic centre, capable of delivering progress, employment and broader opportunities for the people,” Onaiwu said.
He urged Imo indigenes at home and in the diaspora to seize the opportunities created by the summit, stressing that the moment calls for collective participation in the state’s development efforts.
Onaiwu further emphasized that the current phase requires unity and shared purpose rather than partisan politics, adding that the gains from the summit can be consolidated and expanded for the benefit of all residents.
He congratulated Governor Uzodinma and the people of Imo State on the success of the summit and expressed optimism that the momentum generated would continue to drive the state’s economic advancement.
