The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has applauded Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for what it described as his constructive role in the appointment of General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence.

The commendation was contained in an open letter dated December 3, 2025, and signed by SOKAPU’s National President, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato.

Kato said General Musa’s appointment represents a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture and enhancing the safety and wellbeing of citizens. He noted that the development has renewed confidence among Nigerians, particularly the people of Southern Kaduna, who have faced years of persistent security challenges.

According to him, Governor Uba Sani’s leadership continues to reflect integrity, compassion and a strong sense of purpose—qualities he said are helping to rebuild public trust in governance.

SOKAPU expressed appreciation to the governor for his consistent efforts to promote peace, stability and inclusive development across Kaduna State.

The union also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that advance unity, sustainable development and national cohesion.
