Tech mentor Joseph Adeyinka has predicted artificial intelligence (AI) will create more jobs than it eliminates in Nigeria by 2030—if businesses and youth embrace reskilling now.
Speaking at a brainstorming session for the debut edition of Ibadan Tech Expo, Adeyinka—founder of SEPTIN911 Media/PR Services—said AI is already automating routine tasks in marketing and content creation. He has trained over 20 Nigerian youths in Figma, Google Analytics, and AI tools like ChatGPT through free online bootcamps.
“AI will replace repetitive roles,” Adeyinka said, citing the World Economic Forum’s 2023 Future of Jobs Report. “But it will create millions in prompt engineering, data oversight, and UI/UX design—skills I teach.”
He highlighted fintech and e-commerce as early adopters. AI chatbots and predictive analytics, he noted, cut costs while increasing demand for human-AI collaboration.
Adeyinka urged SMEs to start small: “Use ChatGPT for content or Canva for design. The barrier isn’t technology—it’s mindset.”
With Nigeria’s youth population projected to drive digital growth, Adeyinka called for public-private partnerships to expand internet access and AI literacy. “The future isn’t job loss,” he concluded. “It’s job evolution.”
An MSc International Business graduate from Birkbeck, University of London, Adeyinka continues mentoring young Nigerians in UI/UX and digital strategy via online platforms.
