Femi Alabi, wife bag chieftancy titles in Ekiti

The Olosi of Osi Ekiti, HRH Oba Stephen Adegboyega Alabi, has conferred the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Otunba Gbadega and Yeye Otunba Gbadega on Dr. Femi Alabi and his wife. 

The honour was bestowed at the Royal Palace in Osi Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Held on September 6, 2025, it was attended by prominent traditional rulers, including the Ooni of Ife, HRH Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Adeyeye, Ojaja II. Other notable attendees included Barrister Tunde Lawal, CEO of The Rock Hotel,  Engr. Dapo Akinyemi, President of LA Primary School Alumni and Mrs Omotoyosi Adelaja, founder Great Mind Initiative, a non-governmental organization. 

Dr. Alabi was recognized as a distinguished son of Osi-Ekiti, whose contributions to healthcare and academia have brought pride to the community. His illustrious career, both in Nigeria and abroad, was cited as evidence of his suitability for the revered position.

Expressing gratitude after his installation, Otunba Gbadega pledged unwavering loyalty to Oba Alabi and reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of Osi Ekiti Kingdom.

He said, “I appreciate Kabiyesi and I know he is loved by his people. He has been instrumental in supporting our youths through scholarships and empowerment programmes. We will continue to give him our full support in his vision for the development of Osi Ekiti community,” Otunba Gbadega said.

Oba Alabi was enthroned as the Olosi of Osi-Ekiti in August 2021, after a rigorous selection process. He was selected from the Arubiojo Royal House and has been working to restore peace and promote development in the kingdom
