Warri – The political atmosphere in Delta State witnessed a significant milestone on Thursday as Delta State PDP Chairman, Hon. Solomon Areyinka led the official inauguration of the Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie (OSU) Federal Political Forum, a platform established to consolidate grassroots participation, enhance political inclusion, and rally collective support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration and his reelection bid in 2027.

The event, which drew an impressive crowd, was held amidst pomp and ceremony with attendance from political stakeholders, traditional leaders, youth bodies, women groups, business community members, and representatives of non-indigenous communities. The forum is being heralded as a credible political vehicle to unite the three local government areas within the OSU federal constituency.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, Chairman of the newly inaugurated forum and head of the Delta State Internal Revenue Board, described the gathering as a demonstration of the people’s overwhelming support for Governor Oborevwori. “This crowd shows how much our governor is loved and how well he has kept to his promises. Come 2027, this forum will ensure his victory and continuity,” he affirmed.

Key appointees inaugurated into the forum include Hon. Julius Egbedi, Chief James Augoye, Hon. Ejiro Jamani, Chief Isaiah Esiovwa, Mr. Austin Ayemidejor, and Dr. Augustina Erah, among others, representing a diverse and balanced leadership across the OSU axis.

The Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Arthur Akpowhowo, lauded the governor’s strides, saying, “His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori is doing well. The people of OSU are aware and ready. Come 2027, Delta State will load trailers of votes in support.”

In his remarks, Chief Isaiah Esiovwa, Chairman of Okpe LGA, thanked the governor for delivering on his promises. “The MORE Agenda is evident in the ongoing projects across all LGAs. We have no doubt about his victory in 2027,” he stated.

Hon. James Augoye added, “Okpe is on ground, fully mobilized. This is our son, and we will deliver him. There’s no looking back.”

Also speaking, Hon. Perkins Umukoro emphasized the strength of the forum’s formation. “What we have seen today is a loud message. The people are not staying home; they are with us in full support,” he said.

Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ejiro Jamani, described the forum as a natural extension of the governor’s base. “Delta has become a construction site under Oborevwori. This forum is a show of unity and readiness to return him in 2027,” he added.

Publicity Secretary, Chief Benson Okorodudu, offered a more strategic perspective. “This is a message to Urhobo sons and daughters—no one else should eye the governorship come 2027. Our support is total, and the governor’s achievements are unmatched,” he said.

The forum also received endorsements from the Ethiope Federal Political Forum, with its Chairman, Chief Anthony Akpomiemie, pledging full collaboration for future electoral victories.

As the inaugural event concluded, one sentiment rang clear—Governor Oborevwori enjoys cross-party admiration and grassroots loyalty. With the OSU Federal Political Forum now fully operational, political watchers believe the group will play a pivotal role in shaping the 2027 political landscape in Delta State.
