The newly Sworn-In Delta State Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has affirmed that the state’s civil service under her watch would align with Governor Oborevwori’s vision and reforms geared towards promoting transparency and accountability in governance, saying that as HoS, she would do all in her power to ensure that the entire Civil Service keys into that vision and runs with it.

She stated this at her reception after been Sworn-In by the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori as the 12th Head of the Delta State Civil Service on Thursday at Asaba.

The reception attended by a cross section of civil servants, Honourable Commissioners, House of Assembly Members, traditional Rulers, various professional Association, and a host of others, Dr. Oseji, a consultant gynaecologist obstetrician disclosed that her vision was for the Delta State Government House to emerge as a beacon of fiscal responsibility, attracting state governors from across the nation who seek to replicate Governor Oborevwori’s remarkable achievement of governing without borrowing.

She said with transparency and increasing security, “we will be able to attract foreign tourists, foreign investors, promote inward medical and educational tourism, and propel Delta State to become the Nigerian version of Dubai in the next six years.”

Soliciting for the prayers of all Deltans and the cooperation of civil servants in order to succeed in her new role, Dr. Oseji reaffirmed her avowed commitment to follow the footsteps of “my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who completed His entire mission on earth in just three years and to ask Him for the anointing to fulfil my mission as Head of Service, Delta State by October 2026.”

While saying that she was not fazed by the relatively short term she would be in office as HoS, Dr. Oseji, however, stated that after 19 golden months of her tenure, she looked forward to join veterans like sir Okey Ofili I, Sir Paul Evuarherhe and others as a consultant to the State Government.

The Chairman of the event, Sir Paul Evuarherhe, in his opening remarks congratulated the new HoS, saying that her appointment was well-deserved having distinguished herself in her public service.

He expressed optimism that her tenure would usher in new opportunities that would be beneficial to the entire civil service, adding that it was his firm belief that Dr. Oseji would increase the budget for training, having demonstrated a strong passion for capacity building.

Sir Evuarherhe also expressed hope that the new HoS would meet the expectations of civil servants by raising the budget for housing and car loans to enable more civil servants access the loan facilities.

“Her impeccable integrity has always impressed me, and the way she consistently introduces fresh ideas and meaningful contributions during meetings marked her early on as someone destined to rise. I have always supported the idea of her being appointed to this office.” Says Sir Evuarherhe.

He urged all civil servants to join hands with her to elevate the standard and delivery of service in the Delta State civil service, surpassing even the achievements of the immediate past Head of Service, Mr Reginald Bayoko.

Others who spoke including the Obi of Idumuje-Unor, HRM Obi Charles Anyansi the III, Mrs. Oghenerukevwe Agas who spoke on behalf of the College of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments, all lauded the virtues of Dr. (Mrs.) Oseji, even as they expressed hope that her leadership would be impactful.

Earlier at the unity Hall, where she was Sworn-In, the State governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori described the new Head of Service as a quintessential civil servant – polite, dedicated, brilliant, and thorough.

“She brings to her new office decades of exceptional stewardship, exemplary leadership, and undiluted passion for excellence. Her strong work ethic, sincerity of purpose, and professionalism are, indeed, worthy of emulation. My warm congratulations to Dr Oseji on her meritorious appointment.” Said Oborevwori

Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji until her appointment as HoS was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and had previously served as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health and the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
