CHRISTIAN cleric has warned victims of Boko Haram bomb attacks to be wary of the gifts they accept in the name of compensations, arguing that many of such largesse often accompanying purported solidarity visits are aimed at wooing the Christian comm-unity to surreptitiously support the Boko Haram course.
The cleric, forced to migrate from his native Borno State to one of the Middle Belt states, as a result of security chall-enges prevalent in the North East area of the country, argued that most Islamic groups who are openly mouthing peace, are actually part of a grand design to manipulate northern Christ-ians to throw their weight behind plans to Islamize the nation.
Pastor Kallamu Dikwa, in a two-page document titled; ‘The manipulation of some Northern Christian to support Boko Haram,’ made available to Vanguard at the weekend, argued that various Muslim groups have been given spe-cific roles for the actualization of plans to Islamize the country beginning with the North.
“While the Boko Haram is the militant organ prosecuting the war through violence, others are saddled with the responsibility of subtle persuasion of selected Christian leaders with the hope of luring them to their camp by openly showing sympathy with Christian victims of Boko Haram attacks,” he stated, warning therefore that Christ-ians must be careful of such Greek gifts because it is a dec-eption.
“The belief of this group of Muslims,” Pastor Dikwa argued “is that Muslims killed by the Islamic sect are necessary sacrifices for the promotion of Islam; while the kind gesture to compensate affected Christ-ian victims is part of strategies to deceive members of the public.”
He also revealed that there are plans by the Islamic Communi-ty to effect a change in the lead-ership of the Christian Associa-tion of Nigeria, CAN, main-taining that monies are being raised by Muslim lead-ers across the country and from outside the country to ensure that the current national pre-sident does not return.
“It is no longer secret that Muslim leaders in Nigeria are not comfort-able with the leadership of the CAN president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, and are therefore evolv-ing a strategy to induce some Christian leaders from the North as well as the South to challen-ge him and other Chris-tians who stand for the truth,” he alleged, adding that delegations are currently criss-crossing the country to recruit Christians for “this satanic mission”.
Buttressing his argument of different Islamic groups play-ing different roles for the act-ualization of an Islamic agenda, the cleric stated that the much advertised peace and unity con-ference convened by the Arewa Consultative Forum in Kaduna in December last year did not actually address the funda-mental problems of the region.
Instead, he argued, the vice chairman of ACF, Joseph Waku came out of that meeting mak-ing conflicting statements about the Boko Haram ultimatum to Southerners and Christians to leave the North in accordance with the prayers of the Islamic sect.
