The Alapa of Egun-Awori Apa Kingdom, Oba Oyekan Adekanmi Ajose, has dissociated himself from claims that he supports the smuggling of contraband into Lagos through the Seme border.

Speaking at a press briefing in Badagry, Oba Oyekan expressed his displeasure over a social media report alleging that he was aware of smuggling activities set to begin in Seme.

As a peace-loving monarch in Badagry, he said he was shocked to see his name mentioned in a Facebook post by an online journalist, accusing him of supporting smuggling in the region.

“I have no involvement in any illicit smuggling of contraband into Lagos. I am content with what God has given me.

“Anyone attempting to tarnish the good name of the Alapa of Egun-Awori Apa Kingdom should desist from such actions.

“I am a peace-loving king, and no amount of pleading or monetary influence will make me support illegality,” he said.

The monarch warned the author of the false report to stop mentioning his name, emphasizing that he has no business supporting smuggling in Badagry.
