Sylva’s intervention rescued Bayelsa from one party rule – APC chieftain

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Chief Izzi Yakiah, has said the former Minister of State (Petroleum), Chief Timipre Sylva deserves credit for saving the state from falling under one-party rule.

Takisha, who is also the coordinator Niger Delta Media Activists Group and Excellent Leadership Foundation, said this in Abuja, yesterday.

According to him, while others sold the party out for personal gain, Sylva kept the APC Alive and ensured its visibility throughout.

The APC chieftain called for prayers for Nigeria’s growth and stability while urging Nigerians to rally around President Bola Tinubu’s reforms which promise to be beneficial for the country.

Yakiah, described Sylva, “as the face of modern democracy in Bayelsa State,“adding that he, “saved the Ijaw homogenous state from one party system from 2013 till date.

“The former governor and minister has remained the shining beacon of the APC in Bayelsa State, despite the betrayals by fellow party members, all of whom he helped build their political careers.

“He has, through conviction and faith in the vision of the APC and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, upheld the party’s banner in the state against all the odds.”

Yakiah further charged APC leaders in the state to turn a new leaf and prove their loyalty to the party and the president.

The APC chieftain also expressed gratitude to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited Coordinator for Bayelsa State for his numerous interventions and empowerment of thousands of citizens across religion and political lines.

He also acknowledged the commitment of State APC chairman, Barrister Demiss Otiotio to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the growth of APC in the state.
