In a bid to ensure that every household enjoys the yuletide season, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the Aribisala Care Foundation, distributed food palliatives to residents of Ijebu-Jesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.

The palliatives distribution which took place at the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa palace hall, saw residents benefitting from 10kg, 25kg bags of rice, semovita, noodles among several food items.

Women, aged and the vulnerable were among the beneficiaries of the food palliatives with over 500 residents given food items.

Addressing the gathering, the founder and the Chief Executive Officer of the Organisation, Mr Abiodun Aribisala, said the initiative was part of part of the foundation’s welfare programme aimed at providing relief to families struggling to make ends meet during the festive season.

Aribisala urged the beneficiaries to trust in God and cast their anxieties upon Him, particularly in light of the current state of affairs in Nigeria.

He also emphasised the importance of collective responsibility, urging well-meaning Nigerians, including religious bodies, NGOs, and philanthropists, not to leave the welfare of the people solely to the government.

“Our core mission is to improve the lives of the aged, widows, and less privileged members of society. The less privileged among us are God’s own, and it is our duty to care for them. The spiritual reward attached to this selfless acts of charity is unquantifiable”, he said.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Pa Adewole Anthony described the gesture as a gift of the year and prayed that God reward the initiator in multiple fold.
