Southern Kaduna Professionals of Bajju extraction, are set for a 3-day free medical outreach in Rural Hospital Zonkwa, Kaduna State during which free medical services would be provided by their health professionals component, including over 40 surgeries.

The Bajju Professional Careers (BPC) held its 2nd Annual General Meeting on 2 is a group of professionals of Bajju origin scattered across the globe and doing exploits in various fields of endeavours.

President, of BPC, In a statement, explained that the idea to form the group was first conceived in South Africa by Dr. Ibrahim Y. Didamson and in 2020, the group came into existence.

“The mission of the BPC is to transform the Bajju Nation through education, scientific and technological development and Bajju culture and values re-orientation.”

“The BPC had laid down several activities for the AGM which included a 3-day free medical outreach held in Rural Hospital Zonkwa during which free medical services were provided by her health professionals including over 40 surgeries.”

“The theme for this year’s AGM was “Building a Brighter Future Together in Kajju”. The Guest Speaker for this year’s event was Professor Istifanus Bala Bosan, a Professor of Medicine with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.”

The meeting had in attendance, HRH the Agwam Kajju Luka Kogi Yabuwat, the Distinguished Senator Kaduna South Senatorial District Barrister Sunday Marshall Katung accompanied by his wife, the Chairman Zangon Kataf LGA, Engr Joseph Bege Gaiya, the Bajju Development Association (BADA), President Mr. Habila Kazabariyi Madaki, some members of the Board of Trustees, several participants present physically while others joined virtually from within Nigeria and in Diaspora.

The Chairman of the AGM Planning Committee, Mr. Zechariah Suleiman gave the welcome address and enjoined participants to be expectant.
The BPC President Dr. Sheyin D. Madaki in his speech called on all Bajju Professionals across the globe to unite and join forces to make positive impacts within our communities through developments in agriculture, education, health, engineering and technology. He stated that the era of always expecting government to do everything for us has passed instead as professionals we have a role to play by ensuring we contribute our quota to the development of our communities via various means.

The Senator Kaduna South Senatorial District, Barrister Sunday Marshall Katung charged the BPC and BADA to show love in deeds and action and not merely paying lip service.

He emphasized that “only as a united people can we make meaningful development, in doing so we must eschew bitterness, hatred and greed.”He commeded the group, the CEC and the AGM Planning Committee for their resilience and sacrifice towards ensuring a successful meeting.

The Senator’s wife, Mrs Abigail Marshall Katung who is the Lord Mayor of Leeds, spoke earlier and recalled with nostalgia while growing up, the contributions and impact of the Bajju people in uniting Southern Kaduna. “But as I grew older then came divisions amongst us which is a setback to progress and development.We are stronger together as one united people,” she added.

The Chairman Zangon Kataf LGA, Engr Joseph Bege Gaiya congratulated the BPC President and Executives for sustaining such a laudable initiative as “we planned to make maximum impact in our communities.”

He encouraged unity among the people and called on BPC to key into the efforts of his administration towards bringing peace and unity among all people in the LGA.

The lecture delivered presented by the Guest Speaker had the following objectives:To increase and challenge the men and women in Kajju to think about and plan a brighter future for themselves and future generation. To encourage the sons and daughters in Kajju to have dreams of the future they want to see. To encourage the development of a positive mindset that overcomes the fear of the enormous task involved in building a bright future.

Other activities included a prayer for BPC and Kajju taken by Rev. Hosea Ayuba, the ratification and adoption of the new BPC constitution, discussion among participants and others.The meeting came to a close with the vote of thanks taken by the AGM planning committee chairman.
