Chairman of Kaiama local government area of Kwara state, Hon Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi has appealed to National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) to increase its developmental efforts in the council, in the areas of youth empowerment, security of the residents, infrastructure development and erosions control among others.
Danladi made the plea recently when he led a high power delegation to pay a thank-you visit to the N-HYPPADEC office in Minna, Niger state on several interventions of the commission in the local government.
Recall that N-HYPPADEC recently empowered the youth of the local government and even promised to employ them whenever the opportunity avails.
The commission also expended huge sums of money to control erosions that had been troubling the residents, while it further donated Life Jackets to residents of the Gbajibo community to save them from avoidable deaths while on Waters journey.
The HYPPADEC team, which received the delegates was led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Alh. Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa,and other top officers of the commission which included Mr. Jimoh Haruna Gabi, Director of Finance and Administration; Engr. Iliyasu Abdullahi Wara, Director of Operations; and Dr. Mahmud Umar Muhammad, Director of Community and Rural Development.
In his address at the event, the Executive Chairman of Kaiama local government, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, appreciated HYPPADEC’s efforts, acknowledging the commission’s milestone in community service to the council.
He particularly commended N-HYPPADEC management for its overall commitments to Kaiama local government vire it’s efforts in transforming the communities and improving the livelihoods of its people.
According to him,”we have come to express our profound gratitude to the management for various impactful interventions in our local government, which have considerably improve the lots of our people.
“This our very large delegates which accommodate all the stakeholders in our local government is a testimony to the fact that we are sincerely appreciative of your kind gestures.”
“But like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more, particularly in the areas of youth employment, infrastructure development and erosions control ahead of the next rain season, there are Indeed lots more to be done ”he said.
The thank-you visit was attended by top officials from Kaiama Local Government led by Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, Executive Chairman, and Hon. Ahmed Ibn Muhammed, representative of His Royal Highness Alh. Shahu Omar Kiyaru IV
Other notable personalities, included Alh. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development; Hon. Aisha Abubakar Sadiq, Vice Chairman Kaiama Local Government; Hon. Yaqub Salihu, D.O Kaiama L.G; Hon. Atiku Bahinda Abdulsallam, Special Adviser on Strategy to the Kwara State Governor; Alh. Abubakar Musa Shamaki, former NUT Chairman Kwara State; and Alh. Dantala Yaro, former State Treasurer APC.
In his response, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, of N-HYPPADEC Alh. Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa commended the council chairman and his large entourage for their sense of appreciation.
Yelwa who noted that the requests of the delegation is noted however assured that the commission would not relent in its efforts towards assisting the local government whenever the opportunity avails.
